Everything you need to know to register your opposition to this development.
The Government of Alberta is currently seeking public feedback on possible land designation changes tied to the proposed gondola in Canmore. If approved, these changes would allow a portion of Crown land to be considered as an All-Season Resorts Area under the All-Season Resorts Act.
This proposal is significant because it would require changes to the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan and an adjustment to the boundary of the Bow Valley Wildland Provincial Park. While this process does not approve the gondola itself, it would decide whether the project can move forward into a formal application and review stage.
Albertans have until May 14, 2026 to share their views through the provincial questionnaire or by submitting written feedback. This engagement is focused on whether the land-use change should happen at all, and if so, under what conditions.
This website is here to help you understand what is being proposed, why it matters, and how you can take action.
